On July 9th, the third working session of the Energy Working Group took place at the Figueira da Foz Fire Department.
The session was marked by collaboration and knowledge sharing among the Network members to help them implement solutions related to Energy Communities.
In the morning, the network members deepened their technical knowledge with Maria João Rodrigues, the Executive Coordinator of the Network and the Energy Working Group. Topics discussed included Individual Self-Consumption, Legal and Licensing Requirements, and Operating Certificates.
In the afternoon, the Smart IP project was presented as a case study, which aims to reduce energy consumption and consequently mitigate environmental impact. This project, developed in Figueira da Foz, highlighted the benefits of efficient public lighting, such as air quality monitoring, presence and road speed detection, urban solid waste management, and the operation of green space irrigation systems. Following the presentation, a technical visit was conducted, allowing participants to observe the Smart IP in real-time, demonstrating its potential for improving urban energy efficiency.
Therefore, it is clear that initiatives like this session of the Energy Working Group are an important step in the long journey towards climate neutrality. With the continued commitment and collaboration of all sectors of society, we can fight against climate change.
