ERSE – the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority – has launched the new service “Vamos Simular Consigo” (“Let’s Simulate with You”), an initiative aimed at empowering consumers to use the energy price simulator. The goal is to support citizens in finding the best electricity and natural gas supply deals, promoting more informed and conscious choices.
The service is provided in person by ERSE staff at workplaces with a large number of employees, allowing for direct contact with consumers. Sessions are scheduled in advance by company or organisation managers using an online form made available by ERSE.
This initiative comes at a time when only 23.3% of Portuguese household consumers are aware of energy price simulators, according to the latest Energy Consumer Literacy Study. This reality limits consumers’ ability to identify the best options in an increasingly diverse market.
ERSE’s energy price simulator, available on its official website, allows users to compare all commercial offers for low-voltage electricity and low-pressure natural gas. In 2024 alone, over 1.6 million simulations were carried out by around 657,000 users, confirming the strong interest in this tool.
